Harrogate, Tennessee, December 18, 2018— Among the over 300 graduates participating in Lincoln Memorial University’s Winter Commencement Exercises on Dec. 8 were eight degree candidates receiving the Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) degree.
During the ceremony, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Law Professor Matt Lyon presented Bridget Campbell (Wilmington, North Carolina), Aerial Carter (Knoxville, Tennessee), Jaclyn Hardin (Sevierville, Tennessee), Jessica Morales (La Plata, Maryland), Tami Schack (Seattle, Washington), Amber Spelman (Pinehurst, North Carolina), Mary Watson (Portsmouth, Virginia) and Brandy Wilson (Festus, Missouri) with their purple velvet lined doctoral hood. Following their hooding, Vice President and Dean Gary R. Wade presented each of the graduates with their diplomas.
Television and radio personality Hallerin Hilton Hill delivered the commencement address. In his remarks, he encouraged the graduates to remember the ABCs that got them to this point and recited a word for each letter that helped the graduates along their journey. “Learning the alphabet was the key, the key to reading and writing, which unlocked the world for me and continues to unlock the world for me,” Hill said.
