The "Recruitment & Interactive Leadership Student" (RAILS) leadership program provides LMU students the opportunity to be actively involved in the recruiting process of prospective Railsplitters.
Students are selected for this position because they exhibit important qualities of a student leader—professionalism, integrity, friendliness, perseverance, leadership skills, and more! By agreeing to become a RAIL, you are agreeing to be one of the first faces and personalities that prospective Railsplitters, and their families, will associate with LMU.
This is all accomplished through performing daily tasks for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (e.g., Individual & group campus tour experiences, writing postcards to prospective students, mailing informational packets, etc.) and the planning, implementation, follow-up, and support of admissions recruitment events.
The opportunity to serve as a member of the RAILS team is an honor that will pay dividends throughout your academic and professional career! As a RAIL, you will be an official representative of the University, representing the President, faculty, staff, students, and alumni. In keeping with this, your actions--both in and out of uniform--should reflect the highest esteem for yourself and the organization at all times.
