Standardized Participant Program at LMU-DCOM
Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) is dedicated to creating an environment which hones the professional skills of future health care providers. The communication that is fostered here in this clinical surrounding is key in attributing to a more accurate learning experience for these future health care providers.

Standardized Participant & Performance criteria:
Standardized Participants are part time employees here at Lincoln Memorial University – Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Standardized Participants (SPs) may have a variety of roles and have different titles based upon whom they are portraying for the different academic programs on campus that utilize the SP Program.
Definition of Standardized Client & Performance criteria:
Standardized Client (SC) is a part-time employee that has been trained to portray a specific client scenario. They are given details of fictional clients unique to the exercise and instruction how to interact with students of health professions as well as assisting in inter-professional education opportunities for students of various disciplines.
Definition of Standardized Patient & Performance criteria:
The Standardized Participants have been trained to portray a specific patient scenario. They are given details of patient and family histories, symptoms, and medications along with other information that prepares them to act out these scenarios with students from the various health professions here on campus.
LMU-DCOM conducts Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE) using Standardized Patients.
